Event Volunteer 1
Maintaining a vibrant downtown like ours requires that we carefully balance economic development and historic preservation. The success of each depends on the other. It also requires the hard work of many dedicated individuals. Because it isn't enough to have a vibrant downtown just for ourselves, we work hard to bring in new folks with special events. In many ways we are the town's booster club, aggressively promoting Washington in and outside Franklin County. All of this work requires volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer with us, please give us a call! * Some examples of event volunteer opportunities: * Work a few hours at our monthly Sunset on the Riverfront * Help decorate the downtown prior to the Holiday Shopping Open House * Ride the float and pass out fliers and candy at Fair Parade or Holiday Parade of Lights * Meet and greet visitors at the Art Fair & Winefest * Work in the children's area of the Fall Festival of the Arts & Crafts A wide variety of opportunities are available in preparing for and hosting these events! Event volunteers should bring energy and enthusiasm to the event; have good people and communication skills and an ability to work well in a group.
