Farm to Table

Farm to Table is a dinner held in the middle of Main Street in front of the Farmers’ Market in historic downtown Washington. This dinner is a 4 course meal prepared with locally sourced food and by local chefs. This is a fundraiser for the 1856 Farmers’ Market building. You will receive two complimentary drink tickets with your ticket and we will also have a cash bar. You can also choose to purchase a bottle of wine for $25.00.

There are only 150 tickets available and we expect to sell out quickly!

NEW! Crafters will be open on Friday night from 4-7 PM!

September 27-29, Downtown Washington, Inc. welcomes artisans from all over! Each will be showing their finest wares in historic downtown Washington. As guests you will be able to purchase unique fine arts and crafts along Main and Elm Streets. Some of the many interesting items you will find are soaps, jewelry, original artwork, quilts, clothing, handmade wood furniture, and decorative items. There will also be live music all weekend long, along with a food court full of delicious choices! This event is fun for the whole family!

Chili Cook- Off

New Date! October 25, 2019!


Downtown Washington, Inc. is excited to announce the 2019 Chili Cook-Off on Friday, October 25th. This is the 19th year that this event has taken place in downtown Washington! Part of the proceeds of the 2019 Chili Cook-Off will be benefiting the Franklin County Area United Way. The United Way will have a booth selling hot dogs and other goodies. Each cook-off team will have a donation canister at their booth for the public to vote for the Most Money Raised for the United Way.

The teams will be competing for Best Chili and Best Decorated Booth, with other special competitions. There will be trophies and cash prizes for the winners! The theme this year is CARTOONS!

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 after 10/15/19
Your ticket does not guarantee a chili mug or a full chili selection. Please arrive early.
All ticket sales are final.

The name Plaid Friday was conceived from the idea of weaving the individual threads of small businesses together to create a strong fabric that celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent businesses. Plaid Friday is the relaxing and enjoyable alternative to the big box store “Black Friday,” and is designed to promote both local and independently owned businesses during the holidays.


Help us celebrate by wearing plaid while shopping at participating businesses on Friday, November 23rd. Look for the special plaid placards at your local shops. Many of theses businesses are offering specials during Plaid Friday.

WINEFEST
The Downtown Washington Fine Art Fair & Winefest will be held in historic downtown Washington. This unique festival in the heart of Missouri wine country draws visitors each spring from across the Midwest. Complimentary cheese and crackers are provided in the tasting area under the wine tent, with a variety of snacks and gourmet foods on sale in the festival area. Visitors to the wine tasting area will also have the opportunity to win a special wine basket prepared by a participating winery. Hours are: 5-10pm Friday and Noon-10pm Saturday.

Entertainment Schedule:
-Friday: Tall Poppies 6pm- 10pm
-Saturday: Friends of Aaron 12pm-4pm, Joe Fry the Guitar Guy 4-6pm, SAVANA 6-10pm

SIP & SAVOR SUNDAY
Sip and Savor Sunday is designed to provide seasoned wine tasting guests or first time visitors with a truly memorable experience that will allow them to celebrate spring, indulge their senses and learn more about pairing great area restaurant foods with fabulous Missouri wines. Wineries will pick one or two of their event wines and pair them up with an area restaurant to showcase their pairing. Celebrity judges from Feast Magazine will be on hand to award the traveling trophy to this year’s winner. Visitors won’t be left out though as their is also an award from peoples’ choice. Hours are from 12-3pm. Pre-sale tickets: $25 until May 6th then $30.

ART FAIR
Held adjacent to the wine tasting pavilion, the Art Fair is a juried selection of Midwestern artists featuring exhibitions and sales run by the Arts Council of Washington in conjunction with Downtown Washington, Inc. Items on sale include watercolor paintings, photography, pottery, woodwork and more. FREE admission. Hours are Friday 5-8pm; Saturday 10am-8pm; and Sunday 10am-4pm. Enjoy live Blues music and a full food court throughout the weekend. Saturday afternoon join us for our 11th annual BBQ competition, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying BBQ, is the world’s largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 8,000 members worldwide. 50 teams will compete for the title of Grand Champion, with trophies, ribbons and cash prizes for the winners.

Saturday, from 2-4 pm, a BBQ tasting event will be open to the public, in which each team will be competing for the title of People’s Choice. Only $12 to sample BBQ from each team (advance tickets sales end 4/16/19), then the cost will be $15) OR get the VIP experience for just $20! 15 minute head start plus a complimentary commemorative cup and a bottle of water.
